Either That Sweater Goes Or I Go!

Nice Sweater Harry - Kevin Connolly Collection

Here we have Bess giving an ultimatum to Houdini. It seems she doesn’t like the nap of Harry’s new sweater. She’s really going to get hot when she finds out what the sweater is made of.

Sticking With Houdini

Houdini Luggage Sticker - Kevin Connolly Collection

This is a Houdini piece you just might need in your collection. This is an original, unused Houdini luggage sticker. Its’ overall size is 11″ x 4 1/2″ with large red letters on a yellow background. Please click on the image to enlarge. The glue on the back is unused and probably would still work if you wet it. I’ll leave that to the next owner to decide to keep it dry or paste it. The price for this piece is $450.00.

When Writing About Houdini, No Need For Facts

What The Hell Did He Say? -- Kevin Connolly Collection

This is another story form the “Area 51″ one story about Houdini to go along with the story below. This “story” is that Houdini never was at an insane asylum in Canada to see the inmate in a straight-jacket. The article is full of conjecture and holes, but hey, why include facts? Here is the link.

Houdini, Lincoln & Kevin Bacon

Houdini And Lincoln - Kevin Connolly Collection

This Houdini friendship was just brought to me today. Using the “Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon” theory, who was Houdini’s and Lincoln’s personal connection? I’ll give you a few clues. The person is a woman and they worked together. If you get the answer to this, you will be acknowledged as the greatest Houdini expert extant. That, or you too are helping on the research for a new book with the Houdini connection.

Granted this theory is Area 51 or crop circle stuff, it will get settled with the upcoming book. There is DNA involved(no, not the digging Houdini up BS) that should be the final decision on this friendship with Houdini.

Any guesses?

Houdini: The Man Of Rubber

You Know You Want It!

Just Harry And You...All Day Long

Who Will Be The Lucky Bidder?

This puppy just popped-up on Ebay tonight. I’m sure one of you out there wants it. Many of the guys who buy things from me have me send their items to where they work. So slipping this baby pass the wife is damn near impossible. As for the ladies who read this, your chances are not that good either. Some how I think would sooner or later, Harry would “escape” while you were out the house. IMHO. Here is the link to the auction:

If anyone bids on this and better yet, wins it, please let me know. I have the Bess rubber doll!

Tony Curtis & Houdini Up For Auction

Tony Curtis To His Bud Kevin Connolly

I was reminded by a regular visitor to the site about the upcoming Tony Curtis auction on September 17th.  Bill Mullins found 7 lots on magic and Houdini related items. They are lot #’s 71, 253, 402, 403, 458 and 460. Here is the link:

If it wasn’t for Tony Curtis this site and I’m sure many others wouldn’t be around. Tony Curtis, who portrayed the ultimate Houdini in the movies is the reason I collect Houdini related Tony Curtis items and Houdini. Tony Curtis gave me a gift when I was 12 years old that I cherish to this day.

Years ago I was extremely fortunate to have met him; at which time he gave me another gift. The gift was that he was TONY CURTIS, on and off the screen. The times I met him he made me feel as though I was truly his “Bud”.  Thanks Tony.
