Time To Reflect On The Houdini

Kevin Connolly Collection

If you were lucky enough one night in 1933, Bess Houdini might have presented you a set of these pocket mirrors. If you were in Philadelphia in 1933 and a member of the Houdini club, membership of 13 people, you would have had a better shot at these. To find a set today for sale would now now be a long shot. There are now only 7 of these sets that exist today. There are some singles of each mirror out there, so another pair may come together someday. As it being available for sale or trade, probably not. After working years to put a set together, I don’t think the collector would part with it. Enjoy the mirrors.

  • Zip on this? I guess everyone has one….not. :)

  • They’re very cool – I saw them when you put them up yesterday. Do you have any idea how many were made originally? Were there only enough sets as there were group members?

  • I’m still looking for the Bess mirror…

  • I would guess that there are 20-25 total extant. There were more than needed for the group, maybe 25 pairs?

Joe…Good luck prying Bess away from someone, but it would be easier to acquire the Bess mirror. IMHO
